Carlsbad Memories

Carlsbad Memories

If you have lived in North San Diego County for a while, you might remember that Palomar Airport Road used to be two lanes and primarily drove by tomato fields. Now it is a multi-lane thoroughfare with multiple traffic lights and more cars each week it seems.

Palomar Airport Road was my highway to heaven, as I grew up just inland from Carlsbad in San Marcos. Memories from this road run deep: hitching rides from friends in the back of their truck, hitting up the new (at the time) Arco station for ice cream, finally reaching the beach to surf Terra Mar, Warm Waters, or Southside. Getting post surf snacks from the Hostess day old store, hitting up all the taco shops for carne asada burritos and tracking large amounts of sand back home.

What are your Carlsbad memories?
