Surprise isn't always an invited thing in the ocean. Sharks, a wave you missed, getting pulled over the wave and slammed on the bottom - not good surprises. But this wave was a welcome surprise.
About This Image:
A lumpy-swell morning out at the Wedge in Newport Beach had me swimming constantly to not get sucked into dangerous spots by the currents. Waves were coming through in unpredictable locations and at inconsistent intervals. In between dodging sets and trying to stay in what I thought was the right place to be, this peaky block of water showed up and dumped unquantifiable energy onto the shallow sand bottom. Thankfully I was able to get this shot before ducking under the wave and avoiding potential injury. The Wedge, Newport Beach.
Each Westphoria piece is made to order and printed on 9.5 Mil, 250 gsm premium-quality semi-glossy / luster photo paper with a resin coating that makes it feel thicker, heavier, and more durable than mass-marketed photo papers. The coating helps eliminate glare and visibility of fingerprints, so the ink colors come through vividly with no interference from smudges or smears.
Prints use a giclee printing process on color-calibrated Canon printers using aqueous pigment inks that resist fading for 100+ years.
Our premium solid wood frames come with optical-grade clear acrylic glass. Our mats are made from 4-ply white matboards with an attractive bevel at 45 degrees. The back of the frame includes a kraft paper dust cover. Hanging hardware included.
Everything is made and assembled in the US. Framed prints come fully assembled and ready to display on your wall.

Returns
Each Westphoria piece is custom printed and framed to order. We do not accept returns. However, if your piece is damaged during the shipping process or arrives with any imperfections, please contact us within 2 weeks of receiving your order and include images of the damage and box your order arrived in.
