Seeing the images from this wave over the past 25+ years has created an image in my mind of beauty, danger, symmetry, color, speed and beauty. The wave breaks with so much intensity, so much power and so much energy that it draws one's interest over and over. 

At least for me. And many others as well. Friends have been to the wave and shot video and stills, reporting the sort of experience that is uniquely Teahupo'o. You can't replicate it. 

And for those reasons, among others, it has been on the proverbial "bucket list." And this summer my wife and I are headed there to enjoy the beauty and the wave.
